Company History
TACM III, Inc., located in Central Florida, is a disabled-veteran owned Sub-Chapter S Corporation that designs, develops and manufactures tactical flashlights and flashlight mounts under the trade name TACM IIITM. In 1994, a local police detective and machinist teamed up to produce the world’s first tactical flashlight mounting system that attached directly to the bottom of a pistol magazine. This revolutionary design eliminated the need for a modified holster, and kept the center of gravity balanced under the hand, making it very popular for law enforcement agencies and military personnel. In 1996, TACM III, Inc., began manufacturing our own flashlights using Delrin for the outer shell. In laboratory tests, Delrin proved to have a higher tensile strength and expansion tolerance than anodized aluminum, which makes the flashlights more rugged than those of the competition. Another big change occurred less than a year later, when TACM III, Inc. developed a patented electrical design which maximized the bulb luminosity using just two 3-V lithium batteries, and produced a blinding 105.5 lumens. Weighing in at 3.9 ounces and measuring less than 5 inches long, TACM3 tactical flashlights are the most powerful in world for their size. With Operation Enduring Freedom firmly underway in 2002, TACM III, Inc., began mass-producing large orders for our troops overseas. Our picatinny rail mount, named the RIS/RAS was the perfect solution for mounting our tactical flashlights to the M-16A4 assault rifle, M-4 carbine rifle, M1911 pistol, and other firearms using the picatinny rail system. The advantage of the RIS/RAS is its construction of machine-hardened steel, which proved much more reliable under the stress of actual combat situations over lesser quality mounts made of aluminum or plastic. We believe that when the lives of our soldiers are at stake, only the best American-made craftsmanship should be employed. Today, TACM III, Inc., continues to lead the way in the tactical flashlight industry with new developments, such as a tactical dive light (waterproof up to 100 meters), camouflaged pattern lights for sportsmen and hunters, Infrared lens capability for low-light conditions, and a wide variety of accessories (helmet straps, head straps, wrist straps, lanyards, belt holsters, remote pressure switches, snap-on lens caps, colored lenses, and much more). Coming soon – TACM III, Inc. is in the process of developing a revolutionary tactical light using enhanced LED technology. |
